High Volume Low Pressure(HVLP) systems are becoming increasingly popular due to the tightening environmental laws in relation to overspray an solvent usage.
The main benefits of HVLP is it's transfer efficiency and excellent finish. HVLP systems when used correctly can be up to 85% transfer efficient. HVLP works by providing a high volume of low pressure air at the air cap(under 10psi) as opposed to conventional air spray that uses less air but at higher air pressures.
HVLP systems are now wide and varied. Ranging from the standard HVLP systems (similar to conventional air spray), to self contained electric units and now to HVLP compliant air assisted airless systems.
